After reading all about the bog harvesting in Connemara Visitor Centre we drove down the road and saw the real thing! The farmers systematically cut rows and rows of peat from the bog and then stack it to dry before it becomes usable for burning. It is also used to give that smoky flavour to whisky. We learn MUCH more about that when we get to Scotland!
